Applied Invests in Plextronics: Plextronics, a Pittsburgh, Pa.-based startup developing organic semiconductors for thin film solar and lighting applications, said it has received a strategic investment from Applied Ventures, the VC arm of Applied Materials. This funding is on the heels of its $20.6 million Series B roundrelease.
