I believe the key to quality healthcare is in choosing the right plan. While the healthcare system does need improvement if Americans take the time to research and find the right plan it can at least be manafeable. The Medicare system is getting better also. There are many more options these days for medicare insurance. I think it all depends on making wise decisions

I think the biggest change that will result in this is that more startup companies will be encouraged to offshore and/or outsource development of their products, or whatever else they can. When hiring 1 worker in the U.S. becomes $10K/year more expensive, even flight and videoconferencing costs to other countries start to look cheap in comparison.

I also hope this will continue a backlash against locating startups in expensive places like Manhattan and SF, where it's just unaffordable to live for anyone with a net worth of less than a few $M. But that's probably wishful thinking on my part. I do think this may make startups in other countries much more competitive, as the cost of living in the U.S. is much higher.

By the way, I was asked to login with my Wordpress.com account, but once I logged in, I was redirected to Wordpress.com instead of back to this article... I hope you guys can fix that.
