They got here in Indiana almost a monopole!
You cant get anything here if you got no AT&T phone number.
I try for 5 month now to get DSL…..nothing!
I try do get dsl over my internet provider(I got modem now with them)
They say dose I need a AT&T phone number first.
every where I ask,they tell me I need a phone number from them.
AT&T provide for all of them this services,and let no one in if you have not there phone services!!

The hearing was on special access so the AT&T witness professed ignorance about this issue but promised to look into it and get back with an answer in 10 days.

As current customers, I think you highlight nicely the rationality of the Telcos’ behavior. Whaddaya gonna do…switch to the cable company? They also ride the high horse of a local monopoly. They can pillage their customers all they want and you can complain all you want, but it’s not going to change anything.
