eBay Desktop On AIR As AdobeMAX Kicks Off

adobeair.gifeBay (EBAY) finally has a desktop application. Built with Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR) technology, the eBay desktop beta — until recently known by the code name San Dimas — is a pretty sweet little app that can help you monitor your auctions, bid, and whatever else you want to do on eBay. It is clean and easy to use. The only problem I have with the beta is that it’s a memory hog, forcing the Macbook fan to whir like a helicopter rotor.

The eBay desktop beta is one of the many apps based on AIR that you can expect to be released during the Adobe MAX Conference in Chicago. Another one likely to get some attention at the show will be email server company Communigate’s Pronto, a unified communications client with the ability to handle rich media including photos, videos and RSS feeds.
