Sony (NYSE: SNE) BMG Joins imeem: Following the lead of Warner Music Group (NYSE: WMG), Sony BMG is providing access to its artists’ music to social net imeem, Variety reported. Starz Media Syndicates Video Via Xbox And Unbox: Liberty Media’s (NSDQ: LINTA) Starz Media has a secured a digital distribution deal for its package of anime films and TV shows on Microsoft’s (NSDQ: MSFT) Xbox Live Marketplace and Amazon.com’s (NSDQ: AMZN) Unbox, Variety reported. Titles such as “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex” and “Street Fighter,” will be available on Xbox Live’s dedicated anime channel. Those videos from Manga Entertainment along with other titles including “The Evil Dead,” “The Hills Have Eyes,” and “Hellboy Animated: Sword of Storms” will be distributed on Unbox for download on PCs or to TiVo (NSDQ: TIVO). Starz’s recently completed other distribution deals with Azureus’ Vuze service, BitTorrent, Guba, IGN’s Direct2Drive, Netflix (NSDQ: NFLX) and Starz’s own network, Vongo.

Joost And Ripe Partner On Content: Multiplatform TV network Ripe Digital Entertainment will provide online video site Joost with three of its digital channels, including male-oriented comedy site RipeTV, motor sports-centric OctaneTV and the hip hop focused FlowTV, TVWeek reported. Ripe’s trio of TV networks are also distributed via VOD on cable, on mobile and other broadband nets.
