I love imeem, but the biggest drawback for many users is the fact that mayspace is actively censoring any reference to the site. If you type imeem.com into any text field on myspace it'll get replaced with '...' this of course breaks their player on myspace and has had the effect of slowing their growth this year.
imeem is making huge steps forward in adding content, yesterday it was revealed that they had signed a deal with Sony/BMG music and this is on top of Warner Brothers Music. So imeem is easily winning in terms of the legal content game. projectplaylist and ilike do not have any deals with major labels at this time.

Project Playlist may well be paying songwriters and publishers via ASCAP, BMI and SESAC but I'm skeptical it has deals in place with record labels for the digital sound recording performance royalty. More on this at http://davidporter.wordpress.com/2007/09/26/project-playlist-raises-more-than-eyebrows/.

Also, iLike doesn't currently aggregate external MP3 files; it provides links to 30-second clips.

ProjectPlaylist is a great service. I am curious how the royalties issues work as the are not hosting the music. As sites like these grow in popularity and music discovery becomes easier (i.e. finding what people have uploaded to their blogs) it's will be interesting to see just how many nails in the coffin the music labels can handle.
