As of today, lead writer Judi Sohn will be taking over from me as editor of Web Worker Daily and Mike Gunderloy has been promoted to senior writer.
I’ll continue writing for WWD as editor at large as well as doing occasional work on other GigaOM sites, such as my recent The 7 Cs of software at The Future of Software. This gives me time to focus on other projects including finishing the book I’m writing as a companion to the Web Worker Daily website, continuing my independent consulting, and writing more on my personal blog at Anne Truitt Zelenka.
Judi’s a great example of web workerhood in action. Not only does she write technically astute articles for WWD with wit and insight, she also has a full-time job as Director of Operations and Communications at C3: the Colorectal Cancer Coalition, to which she telecommutes from her home. She blogs at A View from Home. She is a master of tools and techniques for remote collaboration and on-the-go work.
Mike’s responsibilities won’t change, but he has a new title in recognition of his thoughtful daily coverage of news and issues relevant to anyone using the web to work better. He writes from experience, having recently refactored his career to move from Microsoft development to Ruby on Rails. He also maintains a website full of tips for software developers, Larkware. I know I speak for Judi as well when I say we can’t imagine WWD without him.
As always, if you have story suggestions or other ideas for the writers at WWD, send an email to tips@webworkerdaily.com. Thanks for reading and commenting!
Congratulations Judi & Mike! Looking forward to more good stuff from both of you! And glad to hear you’ll still be around as well, Anne. I’ve really enjoyed your outstanding contributions to WWD.
Well shucks, Anne, hope to get to keep reading your work. I’ve really enjoyed it here.
Guys,
I share the sentiments. Anne has been spectacular editor and has taught us all a lot of things. Judi is an amazing writer, and super organized person and her new role reflects that. Mike is Mike – doing his thing quietly, efficiently and elegantly. Thanks guys for making our web working days better.
Somehow when blogs start talking about “staff”, “editors” and “editor-at-large” I get uneasy.
Congrads MIke and Judi and Anne. All of you are making WWD ‘THE’ place to check out everyday!
I know we all cannot wait to read your book once its complete Anne! (there will be an e-version wont there? hehe)
All the best!
