Teleblend buys pieces of SunRocket
What and who is Teleblend? Those were the often asked questions in the comment thread that followed our post about the failure of SunRocket. Many readers feared that it was a SunRocket snake oil bottled in a new bottle, with a different label. Teleblend is part of United Systems Access Telecom, a Kennebunk, Maine-based telecom/ISP roll-up company that buys up failing/failed telecom assets. The company tonight announced that it has acquired
…. limited strategic VoIP assets of SunRocket. These assets include the necessary hardware and software to ensure seamless provisioning for former SunRocket customers transitioning to TeleBlend (i.e. – they can continue to use their existing equipment and phone number and, most importantly, maintain service continuity).TeleBlend, a “preferred” provider for former SunRocket customers, is offering these customers a discounted monthly subscription rate of $12.95 for the duration of their previous annual contract with SunRocket, and has set up a dedicated Web site – http://myTeleBlend.net/ – for these customers to quickly and easily sign-up for service and maintain and transfer their existing phone number.

I just wish they would respond to their tickets. I’ve had an open ticket with them for 89+ hours.

This newly invented company “Teleblend” is a continuation of the Sunrocket scam. They’ve seized control of the hardware (they didn’t get mine, I unplugged it from the internet before they could change the administrator password) and have all the Sunrocket customer’s personal details.
It’s a scam.
On a related note, SunRocket has a 10 day countdown before phone service goes completely offline. (Teleblend is keeping customers up temporarily)
I wrote about it here:

Previous comment: “Can we just stop talking about SunRocket now?”
Not so fast. I am still waiting to read the longer, inside story about SunRocket’s implosion, that Om promised in a previous post.
This site has some more info on Telelbend plus other good updates on the Sunrocket situation and alternative providers:

When will we get that insider story?
By the numbers:
1. Joined Sunrocket 6/30/07
2. Credit card charged $244.06 7/4/07.
3. Received equipment 7/11/07.
4. Equipment found incompatible & returned.
5. Called Sunrocket and cancelled.
6. Informed me via email: Cancelled 07/05/07.
7. Probably am out the $$ without ever using service!
Hey, foneless, call your credit card company and tell them the charge is fraudulent as you never received the services. Do it now as you only have 90 days from the day of the statement containing this charge…errr that’s at least until September 4…but do it now. It’s called a chargeback and the issuing bank for Sunrocket, or their bank into which the money flow[ed] will debit their account and reverse the charge. Even if they don’t get the $$$ back they may reverse the charge. Remember, it is a charge you have there, not a payment…..
9 out of 10 times the website http://www.myteleblend.net gives “The page cannot be displayed”
What more can one expect from this replacement company?
After receiving a note about SR termination I signed up with Teleblend. The service continues w/out interruption.Although, they don’t offer call waiting and any change of settings is not available either.
