Looks like Asus wants in on the high speed, mobile modem action; why else would they intro the T500 PC Card? You’ll get support for GPRS, EDGE and WCDMA on just about every usable network band. What’s most innovative to me is the inclusion of voice support over the cellular networks. From the description as I read it, there’s either a headphone jack to hear calls, or this card ties into your existing sound card functionality. In addition to the voice support, the T500 also offers SMS messaging through a software interface on your mobile device. No word on pricing or which carriers might (or might not) pick this unit up.
