Apple probably is overhyped and overpriced but barring a huge mistake I think they'll continue to grow, hopefully the rate of their stock price slows down so they can lower their PE ratio though.

I actually did a rather lengthy write-up just yesterday explaining while I think Google, Amazon, and Apple (among a few others such as American Superconductor and Applied Digital Solutions) are a "Strong Buy."

You can check it out here Hizook.com

The reason for Apple is simple. They have several great products, even lay-people are buying in droves, and they show no sign of letting up. Sounds like a winning situation to me -- P/E ratios aside.

Amazon is a tough call, but their S3 service is really revolutionary. It was responsible (at least in my opinion) for driving the stock up 40% during their last earnings report. I think you'll see something similar happen come end of July.

Google just has the brain-power and will-power to make things happen. I'd buy purely on philosophy.

Yev - I agree AMZN is way overdue for a correction.

Coleman - Dollar gains aren't the same as percentage gains. Apple started from a much smaller price than Google. If you'd invested $1000 in Apple in August 2004, you'd have made more money today than if you'd invested in Google.

Dax - The only advice you'll ever hear from me is not to confuse a journalist's opinion with investment advice.

Franky - I don't want any of FSJ's luurve unless he's wearing his Detroit Tigers cap at the time ;)

[...] Put into the picture Apple’s competitive laptops, Apple TV, and the oh-so-subversive glue - iTunes, which bypasses Windows to network with other instances of itself - and you start to see the complete personal distributed device network to which Apple aspires. I don’t currently own Apple stock but I have encouraged everyone I know to buy some. [...]

ValleyWag is still the current "Champ" in the "Apple is dead" sweepstakes (taking over from Michael Dell ;p ); he sold ALL his Apple shares just 2 months ago, at around 94, and advised us all to follow suit. Stock is up $30 a share since then.

"That said, the stock seems overdue for a modest correction, given its rush from $90 to $120 in less than two months. Corrections can be a beneficial thing for stock rallies, laying the groundwork for further advances"

Why is it overdue? Why isn't AMZN overdue? Look at Amazon's PE for gods sake and compare it to Apple as well as growth and consistency over the last number of years.

Apple is constantly compared to Dell, HP, etc., when its nowhere near those companies, its leaps and bounds above them.

People need to get over their "hate" for Apple and admit that is one of the few that consistently delivers quality product and growth.

nuff said

frankly the only thing more telling of a top (in any market) is when general public persona feel inclined to give investment advice.

mag/ covers speak a same language- but a(respected) tech columnist, talking about any stocks' price and PE values, well, it kinda scares me.
-just a humble observation
