No guarantee of access, no guarantee of QoS of any type. Mobile WiMAX has all those advantages; but that said I don’t think it is going to displace cellular data (3G & its variants) anytime soon.

WiMAX will face building penetration challenges too. WiFi is still cheaper to build out. WiMAX will be less expensive to maintain.
