You may not be aware that MobileTechRoundup co-host Matt Miller is in Spain attending the S60 Summit (lucky bugger stiff) and he’s blogged about the new widget capability that’s being touted for the S60 platform.  What are widgets for the S60?  I’ll let Matt explain:

Widgetexample2Widgets appear as applications that you can file in the S60 folderstructure and then simply launch by selecting the Widget. These aresmall and more easily developed applications that integrate with theamazing S60 Web Browser. There are reports of developers being able tocreate a widget in the span of a couple of days and then roll it outfor usage by an end consumer and we will be seeing more of thisdevelopment capability during the event.

Cool stuff and very iPhoney.
