<p>Well in my opinion, the main reason why real world companies didn't a really have big impact in the virtual world is because of the lack of a proper strategy. Many big names jumped into Second Life all of a sudden without having a proper knowledge of how things are run here. Second Life is a huge platform with a million different aspects and one cannot succeed with any kind of idea till he/she is a closer watcher of the situation. Many famous RL fashion brands failed to give a competition in the virtual world because of the immense amount of amazing fashion talent in Second Life.
No wonder they will continue to fail if they themselves really don't involve themselves in SL. After all, success or anything , whether in marketing or in any other area does demand a lot of time, commitment and experience.
