Versatel, German DSL operator plans IPO

Versatel, a German DSL operator is planning to go public by summer of 2007 and will list on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The carrier is owned by Apax Partners and nearly half the proceeds of the IPO will be used to beef up company’s presence in the German broadband market, and become the top alternative to Deutsche Telekom.
