I was curious and after reading all the comments I am glad I didn’t throw more money away. I had tried vonage, and not only did they overcarge, but you could not hear people, and they could not hear you either!! What a joke!!!! I am so sick of all of the red tape involved.!! I was born and raised in the military, for 52 years have loved my country and I even lost my baby brother in the navy!!, But lately I have been so disapointed…I am actually glad that my Mom and Dad passed away!! Some of the stuff that has gone on would have broken their hearts!!

One thing that would have made them angry, is paying property taxes–you bought the house, and now you have to pay the government every year for the ‘privledge’ of buying said house!!! What the heck was the ‘boston tea fight’???? okay time to shut up!! Maybe I should start a website!!!

MagicJack will work, I have one. But I will warn you ahead of time they will advertise so many years for so much money. It was 5 years for $59.95. So paid for it on 12/27/08 I have my credit statement to prove it. Well when the first year was up they cut the service off. YOU can’t hold of anyone on the net, they had tecks. what they did was ask me how much I was willing to pay for an answer. NOW all of this is facts. If you would like to see my statement let me know I will scan you a copy to see. I ALSO have the e-mails the teck sent me.

As far as the magicjack working yes it does. But be careful never pay more then a year at a time. Your money will be gone.

If this MJ works for phones,and internet,and you need to connect your phone to cable,is there a way out of monthly bills for cable?It would be a dream come true, since they have lock us into cable.Since we no longer have an option whether we can watch TV without cable or not.I say with the economics like they are, we need a break on cable.

I’m interested in purchasing a MJ, I’d like to know exactly how it works,could I get internet in a laptop? a desktop?besides the land line? once I’ve purchased this item, can I terminate my phone company?can all this be done just by plugging the MJ into the computer?

you have to be sure that you do not hook the phones to the magic jack flash that is hooked to the land line phones. I have my whole house wired for phone and when I hooked up Magic jack, I disconnected the land line input to the house. Have been using MJ since July 2007 and have had no problems.

My cousin in State had given me a magic jack as her xmas gift. Since, we didin’t have a landline in the U.S. I used it as my landline and had no problem. I just went to U.S. to visit my daughter who just gave birth. I came backinthe Philippines and brought my magic jack. It’s really a magic and I can call mother,sisters and friends in the U.S. with no problem at all. My mom is very happy with me calling her everyday. I feel like I am still in the U.S.and don’t feel homesick.As soon as I wake up in the morning, I will connect my magic jack to computer and start calling my mom, my sisters,relatives and friends. They are wondering how can I afford calling them without worrying about my overseas call. I told them about my magic jack. I am also a travel agent and now, even though I am here in the Philippines, I can continue doing my business as travel agent without worrying about my calls. Thank you for this magic jack, I love it!!!!!! I thank God for providing me this magic jack
and I hope it will continue it’s success in the future.

i tried the magicjack for free and decided to keep it. i had no problems yet so far. i just wouldn’t rely on it too much. i am just using it for a backup phone or to call other magicjacks abroad. if you have lots of relatives abroad, this would be a benefit. i don’t understand why other people are leaving comments that they have problems with it. i did not have difficulties and so as my brother from another state.

My husband hooked it up so it would work on all our phones, now the monitor on the computer screen is black. He tried an old monitor we had and the screen is grey. I am using my laptop now but why would the monitor no longer work that the majic jack is using. It worked before he connected all the other phones in our house to it using a splitter. Thanks in advance for your help. Appreciate it.

I am currently stationed in Japan and at almost $.10 a minute to call home using calling cards, this product was a blessing. I purchased an upgrade and now have my service active until 2013 for around $100. I have had no issues with service or connections. You must have a consistent internet connection and the resources on your computer to run the program, but short of that, Plug and Play. I travel to foreign countries monthly and use it with my laptop wherever there is a wireless signal. Very pleased and highly recommended.

Majic Jack – What a piece of junk. I received my several days ago and still can not get it to work. My phone gets a dial tone, but when I try to place an outgoing call, I get a message, “No output/input audio devices are found.” I’ve updated all of my drivers and spend hours with there computerized chat to resolve the problem. I’m sending it back!

Majijack is a “majic jack” No customer service only run around unauth excessive charges not only that but had a tracer program for all calls and activity on your computer!!!!!!!!!!
