redberry.jpgA good friend of ours went shopping for a Blackberry today and emailed us, gushing about the new Red Blackberry Pearl. Apparently, this device has the AT&T logo, making it one of the first new phone with the the “new AT&T” logo.
We are guessing that this could be the kick off of the “re-branding” of Cingular to AT&T. [Playing Football with AT&T's Name] He mentioned that the Cingular store people indicated that RedBerry will be sold for about $299 with 2 year contract and will go on later this week. (Engadget had early details on the device.)

I like this whole color thing, just like our readers: White, Black, Red… but RIM please no PinkPearl! Meanwhile, Newsgator has released Newsgator Go, an RSS reader for Blackberry and other Java enabled devices. Hey now you can get your GigaFIX on the GO!

  • Come on, why not pink? I might buy one if it was pink… with a little bit of bling too…

  • If there is one thing i don’t like – pink. just the color pink doesn’t work on devices for me. of course you are different… so you can root for pink :-)

  • I get the feeling, from posts like this, that the entire Cingular to AT&T rebrand is going to be successful. The fact that they’re publicly announcing (and rightfully so) the first handsets that bear the small and virtually unnoticeable AT&T logo on the handset proves that Cingular can easily be shed. Smart strategy too – for one of the “hottest” phones, release it in a new colorway to mark the changeover.
