Latest update to our story on NewTeeVee, NHL says it didn’t tell YouTube to disable any embedding of its videos, and says any blocked embedding was a glitch on their end that “has since been corrected.” We’ve noticed several have now been fixed. Earlier this morning NHL said: “We’re trying to determine why this happened…it wasn’t at our request. We have a call into YouTube and should be able to tell you more later today.” Continue »

Cell phone text message promotion startup Mozes says it’s raised $5 million in a first round of venture funding from Norwest Venture Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners. I ended up signing up for Mozes because it has a mobile service for the music festival NoisePop, which I’ll be at next week. Sweet. Continue »

Unyte Lyte is an interesting little plugin for Yahoo messenger that allows you to share your desktop with others, and adds a little pizzaz to web conferencing, though it is much better for mundane tasks such as sharing desktops. It is a Windows only offering for now. Continue »

A tiny MicroSD can storge many gigabytes - a miracle when compared to say five years ago. But given the size of our files, videos and what not, even that might now be enough. Answer to our growing need for storage is bacteria-based storage. I am not sure if I am ready for something like that. Will bacteria-based storage replace electronics in our daily work? Continue »
