		<description><![CDATA[Hmm, the problem with tracking giant companies like Microsoft and Time Warner is that their game properties are only a small percentage of their overall revenue.  It would be helpful to indicate  the percentage of revenue that the game divisions produce in relationship to the larger corporate entities.  For instance, GameTap is part of Time Warner&#039;s Turner Broadcasting System, just one of Time Warner&#039;s many properties.  Unfortunately, they don&#039;t break this information out on their balance sheet.  Without a properly weighted portfolio, this particular set of stocks can&#039;t shed any interesting light on the industry.  If a stupid move at AOL causes Time Warner&#039;s stock price does that really tell us anything about the games industry?

Otherwise, I think it&#039;s a good idea. :)

To wit, we have Blizzard themselves. They are, unquestionably, total fuckups. But at least they managed to make their own popcicle stick house. The9 just borrows it and repaints it a little.

So no, let&#039;s forget them. Let&#039;s forget them right up until we want to talk about how their existence is proof of how seriously limited China&#039;s influence in the gaming world is right now. Make good games on their own? Nope. Just luck out HUGELY and license a sure hit made by clueless wonders.

And it&#039;s totally understandable too, given the breakneck pace at which the concept of MMORPS has evolved, right? Yeah, that&#039;s a pretty high bar.]]></description>
