Alcatel-Lucent invests in WiMAX

Alcatel-Lucent has invested in WiMAX chip maker, Sequans Communications. The investment is an extension of Sequans’ recent round of funding announced in July 2006. Sequans raised a total of $24 million thus far in its most recent (third) round of funding. Terms of the investment agreement were not disclosed. The company has raised a total of $32 million from from European and Israeli investors.
