Oh No, Not Another iPhone

The iPhone versus iPhone controversy hasn’t even been fully laid to rest, and already there is a new pretender in town - iSoftphone. It is an iPhone lookalike but it is really a soft phone, which is heavily inspired by the real thing. Now talk about inviting the wrath of Steve Jobs.

iphone3.jpgFacing King Jobs’ ire this time is going to be XNet Communications, a Hamburg, Germany-based company that first caught our attention as MegaFon.

The made for OS-X softphone works with the Address Book, and will someday allow you to send SMS messages to cell phones, and costs a whopping $99. Yup, this is one product we are unlikely to spring for, no matter how shiny and pretty it looks. We will just wait for Luca to do the final review instead.
