How would you like a wi-fi remote integrated with your pda, ipod that has IR and RF capability, and a more computer-like control interface?

I am still waiting for the remote that takes me to the next interesting channel (Web 2.0 for remote control anyone?) instead of the next numerical channel.

Without the remove control, we might actually watch a show all the way through, commercials and all. I don't know that it would be a stressful experience, might be rather pleasant…would certainly make the job of advertisers that much easier…but it would also mean we're living in a world of broadcast content as opposed to the trending towards narrowcast that we are experiencing today.

I would argue that the remote control may have done more to shorten our attention span than any invention in history.

I would like a remote control for my computer so that I can navigate its screens during commercial breaks on the TV. :-)

I wonder if this shift in power will stay here for long, or the sharks will find their way to gain back the control.
