Some Nissan reps had them and were taking mailing information for sending out brochures, but I also saw a more complex use for them. There were a few cars where you could get your picture taken for free and uploaded to the web for your retrieval, and it was done with a digital camera and bardcode reader plugged into the tablet.  Picture was taken, card with barcode was scanned (tagging the photo with it’s card number, I assume) and card given to happy customer.  Much faster and more convenient than any solution I’ve seen for that before.

This is the perfect field use of Tablet PC technology!  Thanks for sharing this, Keith.
