Apple goes Nintendo? De toekomst zal het uitwijzen… […]

Figured this was better put here -

"No one Om, well definitely not in the gaming area at least. We have to think about controlling the unit and what games will be available to gain an audience. It is like comparing those iPod and soon to come Zune games which we all know doesn’t go too far from being your natural Java based mobile phone games as far as functionality and game play. The case should not have been brought up. From no buttons to not even being considered as a major platform . So don’t expect seeing our EA, Activision, THQ anytime soon on this but more like Tetris going wild and “touchy fealy” palmOS type games…

Now if iTV was to add some new functionality to it and started streaming (acting as an external wireless video card) then we’d have some magic. Firmware upgrade makes the iPhone a controller and bam, Apple jumps into the gaming age. With systems so powerful today and software dev’s like Transgaming behind Cider (Mac) and Cedega (Linux) then we can have something here and target the biggest gaming market there is, PC gaming. But eh - that is as real as the iPhone being a competitor (as far as gaming) to the DS or even the PSP. Did someone mention Zune…"

Cy’s area…
