They figure that because they were successful in one market they will automatically be successful in another.

This reminds me of a phone company I worked for that decided to do DR. They partnered with a crappy hardware company and offered a inferior product to the world but thought it was great because they received great pricing and a steak in that company. Needless to say they didn’t sell one device and went back to what they were good at, phone/internet service.
