There’s something about the Holiday season that makes people a little bit more charitable. Just like Mr. Scrooge found his heart after being visited by the three spirits of Christmas and the Grinch’s heart grew while he was trying to jack Who-ville, Microsoft has, in what would appear to be a dose of holiday spirit, officially extended the warranty on all 360s (even those purchased within the last year) to 1 year.

This is definitely a step in the right direction for Microsoft, and will go a long way towards mending any ill-will that they may have garnered from all of the failed hardware and firmware updates. Whether or not this was a move to try to avoid any more litigation or an act of actual good will, we may never know. However, for now, let’s consider it an early Christmas present from Microsoft.
