Om Malik, Blogging Guru and our Benevolent Benefactor, has written a new piece devoted to surfing the Internet from your couch. We’re not talking about WebTV here, we’re talking built-in browsers for the Sony PS3 and the Nintendo Wii. The Wii’s new Internet channel, which launches today, allows you to download and use a special version of Opera designed specifically with this purpose in mind. The PS3 comes with a proprietary Sony browser. These new consoles allow for us to bring the Internet out of the office and into the living room. Om had this to say about the value of Internet-ready consoles:
