Scanning technology has gotten so small and accurate that it was only a matter of time before some innovative company realized that a handheld device would be the perfect tool for the blind to scan text and have it display on a special Braille screen.  The Blind Reader by Togo does that and more by also storing scanned text into memory for reading by touch later.  The device is very small and the flat form makes it possible to scan text in from just about any source, including books and magazines.  Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology is very accurate these days and this is a perfect use for it.  I love to see mobile devices that can actually provide a much needed function.
