We’ve had serious doubts about whether the mobile TV company Modeo would be able to meet its end-of-the-year launch. Folks are already making New Year’s plans and there’s been little news from the Houston-based Modeo, owned by cellular tower company Crown Castle. RCR Wireless talks to new CEO Michael Ramke and says:

Modeo’s NYC trial is set to begin early in the first quarter. The company previously said the launch would take place by the end of this year.

Add a missed launch date to the myriad of problems Modeo is facing. But launching the service isn’t even the company’s biggest problem, it’s signing up a carrier. Basically Modeo needs to sign up Cingular, assuming the CDMA gang sticks together, to be a player in this market.
