I just got home and saw the email from Adobe – Tomorrow, Friday December 15th, Adobe will release a public beta of Photoshop CS3. That’s right, Intel-based Mac users, if you’re currently running CS2, you’ll be able to test the Universal beta out.

This can’t come at a better time for me. Lately I’ve been having to reboot my machine just to keep Photoshop from complaining about not being able to open files. It’s been a real hassle. So even though it’s a beta, I’m still very excited to be able to grab CS3 tomorrow and give it a good thrashing.

Check MacWorld for the full details and news release.

  1. Just burns that I never upgraded to 2, now I have to find someone else’s license to hijack by convincing them it won’t make much difference on their PPC but will make a world of difference on my intel and pointing out that they don’t want to chance corrupting their system or their files with an unstable piece of beta software. Damnit, I’m not sure that I know anyone who will buy into that.

  2. Never got that email, so THANK YOU!!

Can’t wait to fire it up on the MBpro.
CS2 has been slugging along ever since I got it.

  3. Well it looks like w/o a valid cs2 license, you can still demo it for 2 days. Better than nothing? Or a cruel joke? you be the judge…

  4. I WANT MY ILLUSTRATOR

  5. I heard that Illustrator CS3 is due in June.
    That hurts.

  6. Judging by the MacWorld video preview, it will be a very, very cruel joke! It is a screw job as well to tell your customers that the only ones that matter are those that upgrade with every version, never mind if you didn’t want to give up the browse feature for a secondary application or if you have an intel machine and so you are waiting for this version that actually runs properly on your machine…

  7. By the looks of that Photoshop logo alteration, you could use some good graphics software!

    Cheers for the great blog

  8. :D Yeah, I was just trying to get a purdy graphic up quickly for the post.
Wouldn’t you know it – PS under rosetta was causing me problems last night…
