To turn Cyber Monday's shopping into giving, a new way people can act more socially responsible is by using www.maatiam.com. It's a new web site that turns online purchases into donations to your favorite charity without costing you or the nonprofit a dime.

Anytime you use maatiam.com and shop at any of our 200 prominent online partnered merchants, a percentage of your purchase is donated to the nonprofit of your choice. You pay the same price for the item as you normally would.

The donations don't cost consumers a dime. And now nonprofits have a free and effortless way to raise funds.

Living Cyber Monday to the Fullest…

With hordes of pitches for online shopping tools pouring into the GigaOM mailboxes, I thought I’d take the opportunity today to hit the virtual mall today. Payment tools, shopping comparison, speedy delivery — whatever came my way, I was going to try…

Too bad about not getting the discount on the Nike+iPod Sport Kit… it was on sale at the Apple store last Friday for $24. Anyway, it's worth every penny of $31.47. Enjoy it.

You know what I do? I just search on Amazon for whatever I need to buy. I've got Amazon Prime so I hardly ever have to worry about shipping costs. Sure, you might be able to save a few bucks here and there by scrounging the web, but Amazon has what I want at a reasonable price 99% of the time. And the integrated recommendations and reviews make it REALLY fast and easy for me to make an informed decision on the product I'm interested in. As an urbanite who hates driving, Amazon saves me the hassle of ever having to waste time going to a brick-and-mortar store. (Consider this: it takes me 5 minutes to buy something on Amazon, vs. 30-60 min to go home, get my car, drive somewhere, park, walk around, buy something, and then go home). Don't even get me started on how awesome I hope Amazon Grocery becomes (I use it to buy snacks and stuff for work, it's sweet).

Yeah, I like Amazon.
