When faced with the dilemma of building or buying an online spreadsheet, Google did both. But apparently it wasn’t enough to release Google Spreadsheets and buy Jotspot (which made an online collaborative spreadsheet amongst other wiki-based applications). Now the company has hired the two founders of another web-based spreadsheet, iRows, and will be absorbing their product. We had previously reported this was a possibility, but were about six months too early.
