Vista_logo_2Paul Thurrott has the inside track (as usual!) and spreads the word that Microsoft will release Vista RC2 to beta testers this week. Build 5743 expands upon the prior interim build of 5728, which is bar-none the best build yet. Paul notes an interesting stat that’s worth sharing: there were 2,479 open bugs logged against Vista on September 22nd. Just a week and a half later, that number is down to 1,400; the magic number Microsoft is shooting for is 500 or less. Of course, we’ll be hoping for zero, but that’s not realistic. Anyway, I’ll be interested to see what, if anything, has been changed in the Tablet PC and WMDC functionality, assuming Windows Mobile Device Center actually comes with this build.
