I have used the Gizmo Project in conjuction with a free online digital pbx service (pbxes.com) to make near-free worldwide calls on my nokia e61 SIP protocol. i can tell you for certain that will be the wave of the near-future in mobile device telephony. For calls that i used to pay $1 per minute (internationally) i now just have to find a WiFi point and make the same SIP VoIP call for 1-9 cents using the pbxes and gizmo project!
