A couple launches to watch out for after the long weekend:

  • MyStrands (formerly MusicStrands), a social music recommendation service, is working on mobile social software for partygoers called partyStrands — think a Dodgeball-jukebox hybrid. Visitors to a participating bar can text song requests or link up to their MyStrands account, hooking into a TV screen to show who’s influencing the playlist.
  • MyChurch.org is beta-launching September 6, though we didn’t have any problem signing up for an account today. (Fun FAQ of the week: “What if I don’t go to church?” “Then MyChurch.org was actually made for you! This is not ‘MySpace for Christians,’ this is MyChurch for everyone.”)
  1. Umm… everyone, Christian?
