Congressional Quarterly Inc., the leading source for objective, non-partisan political reporting, is seeking a highly motivated Online Ad Sales Manager to oversee day-to-day ad sales operations for its paid content website, CQ.com. An award winning online service, CQ.com provides in-depth news, analysis and information on Congress and the Federal government. This position works hand-in-hand with the VP, Advertising as well as the Product Development and IT departments to strategically manage and maximize ad revenue opportunities.
Responsibilities:
* Must take ownership of all facets of managing online sales while working hand-in-hand with a team Advertising Sales Reps. Duties include preparation of sales materials and communications, market research and analysis, competitive tracking, sales promotions and customer support.
* Must be able to communicate effectively and interact well with co-workers, clients, and ad agencies.
* Must have the ability to manage the technical side of ad campaign delivery including all internal reporting, inventory management and maintaining strong relationships with DART/DoubleClick and other third party vendors.
* Ideal candidate is aggressive and focused on proactively reviewing and improving the online sales process to ensure CQ’s Advertising Department meets client/market expectations while reaching (and exceeding) its annual sales revenue goal.
Qualifications:
— 2 – 3 years of experience in online ad sales/marketing.
— Highly motivated, strong work ethic, able to multi-task and handle pressure.
— Exceptional organizational as well as written and verbal communications skills.
— Strong knowledge of interactive advertising with regard to positioning, reporting and technology
— BA/BS in a related field.
— Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint
— Experience with DART DFP.
— Experience with HTML; Third Party Ad serving/ RichMedia Technologies
