RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director, AOL CityGuide/AOL Tickets will lead all product strategy and vendor relations efforts to achieve the group’s objectives through strategies, partnerships, tactics and plans that enable the group to deliver industry-leading ticketing products across AOL and AOL Web Properties. This Director will be responsible for leading and managing the ticketing vision, strategy and design, including identifying product requirements, ongoing data & content needs, and partner selection / integration. Specifically, the Director, AOL CityGuide/AOL Tickets responsibilities include, but will not be limited to, the following:
– Lead, manage, and refine the product strategy for AOL CityGuide/AOL Tickets to maintain, build, enhance, and evolve ticketing functionality and offerings, which will support the Company’s primary and secondary ticketing businesses.
– Manage and maintain strong relationships with existing content and ticketing partners/providers.
– Collaborate with cross-functional Programming, Development and Design teams to deliver products to market in a timely manner.
– Develop and lead the process of identifying, approaching, integrating, and managing potential top-tier, and strategic partners. Introduce new, innovative partner programs and products.
– Identify new service and product offerings and/or other product expansion opportunities for ticketing that build audiences and drive revenue.
– Message, communicate, and evangelize AOL CG and ticketing products and capabilities to internal product & programming teams and external partners.
– Monitor metrics and trends of AOL CityGuide/AOL Tickets and the industry at large and tracking them against AOL’s CG/Tix business goals, timely identifying issues and opportunities.
– Manage operational issues and maintain a consistently high level of quality in the function of AOL CityGuide/AOL Tickets.
QUALIFICATIONS: Prospective candidates will have at least five years of extensive, product development, partner relationship management, and leadership experience with top-tier media, Internet and/or e-commerce companies. The candidate will be an accomplished strategic product marketer and business manager with a proven track record of success, building both audiences and businesses. The ideal candidate will understand the importance of data, content, partnerships, and product quality focused on the highest level of consumer satisfaction.
Specific experience or qualities which are required include:
– Consistent record of high performance in product management, preferably in complex entertainment, ticketing, local or e-commerce products and services.
– Ability to manage a direct team and across a matrixed ogranization
– Proven ability to perform in an aggressive, fast growing, and constantly changing environment.
– Adept team and partner management skills with the ability to build strategic relationships at multiple levels within complex and dynamic organizations.
– Proven ability to work with product and technical teams.
