If you have ever watched a San Francisco Giants home game at some point the camera turns to the flotilla of kayak paddlers in the cove just outside the stadium where intrepid kayakers attempt to snag home run balls hit out of the park and into the water.  Larry Ellison snagged a couple of Barry Bond’s homerun balls earlier in his career and used the $17,000 he got for one of them to purchase a special kayak and outfit it with a Tablet PC.  Larry is currently trying to snag a Bond home run ball that ties or breaks Babe Ruth’s record, along with dozens of other kayakers.  Larry uses the Tablet PC outfitted on the front of his kayak to watch the games on his home TV streamed from his Slingbox at home.  Now that’s a unique use for a Tablet PC!

  1. Why not just use a TV?

  2. If it’s like it is here in Houston most of the baseball games are only shown on cable.

  3. Important to note that this is not THE Larry Ellison. Cool use for a tablet pc though!
