Close on the heels of ATI Technologies‘ $44 million-acquisition of Finnish mobile graphics maker Bitboys Oy, it has announced a strategic tie-up with handset-manufacturer Nokia. The two companies will “work jointly in the fields of music and video playback, 3D gaming and mobile TV”. The deal will help Nokia provide “unparalleled mobile multimedia experiences to consumers,” said Ilkka Raiskinen, Senior Vice President, Multimedia Experiences, Nokia.
Last week, ATI acquired Bitboys where Nokia’s venture-capital arm holds 14 percent stake. The synergy is showing. [Via
