Palm has released the AKU2 update for the Palm Treo 700w.  The update provides push email capability for those who use Exchange Server SP2 along with the following updated features:

  • Includes Microsoft®’s Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP) with Direct Push Technology for automatic wireless synchronization of email, calendar, contacts and, now, tasks
  • Enhances email capabilities for more support of push email solutions, such as WirelessSync and GoodLink™, and of synchronization capabilities, such as the ability to maintain an “always on” data connection after POP or IMAP email synchronization and the ability to auto-synchronize all email accounts based on user setting.
  • Updated memory management
  • Pictures and Videos enhancements
  • New Wireless Manager provides an updated interface for turning wireless radios on and off on your 700w smartphone

  2. John, I installed the update last night and plan to write something about it tomorrow. Overall it’s a good update. No, my hosted exchange server has not upgraded to SP2 yet which I am not happy with.

  3. I am also experiencing a great deal of disappointment and resentment that my hosted exchange provider has not upgraded to SP2. I believe we use the same provider… The excuse I received is that they are still trying to acquire licenses which does not really make any sense to me. Hopefully, they will get their act together soon as I am really looking forward to OTA task sync…
