Velti, a Greek mobile content software and delivery company, is debuting its IPO on London’s AIM market and is expected to raise close to $17 million. The company, whose financial backers include Nicholas Negroponte, the founder of the MIT Media Lab, is planning to use the funds to increase its presence in the Balkan and Turkish telecommunications markets.
Velti provides software and services that allow mobile phone operators – including Vodafone Greece – to track and manage the content that their subscribers access. It also provides technology for media companies wanting to offer content or run promotions over the mobile phone network.
