One thing Erick failed to remember is that Time Warner Cable is already experimenting with IPTV. Plus with OCAP you can pretty much guarantee that there will be lower cost and higher revenue in the future for Time Warner as a whole and allow services and products to be tailored to the customer specifically. Broadband, IPTV, Voice, and Cell phone service that is repackaged Sprint Nextel service.

The problem with Web 2.0 is the one dimensional thinking. It only thinks about the web.

Amen. Someone called out the issue with Web 2.0 - and something I see at these events that people forget that the 7x7 is not the end-all, be-all but that there is a whole country out there that does not care about 2.0 anything, just about things that work, and work well.

Spot on.

In the current environment, it’s all about return on spectrum and efficient utilization. We see this not only in cable operators, but also in mobile and wireline operators.

Makes me think about the ILECs move to deliver content and the massive investment needed, in what year to they expect a return on investment?

But then again, things aren’t always what they seem to be, given recent FCC position exempting Verizon from unbundling rules as they relate to their fiber investments to higher margin business customers.

Mr Wave Theory thinks that there is a Bubble 2.0 for Web 2.0 and Most Analysts Are Overestimating the Size of Google's Total Addressable Market for Internet Advertising
