Ken Morse, VP of Scientific Atlantic recently mentioned that adding voice recognition capability to home video systems may happen soon. Home entertainment systems are becoming ever more difficult to operate with the growing numbers of cable boxes, DVRs and video on demand in the home. Imagine how convenient it would be to speak your way through the numerous menus that must be traversed to accomplish routine tasks rather than using a remote control. This seems a wonderful use of speech recognition in the home and I would love to see this.
