Chris Pratley has done a wonderful job detailing how much better the next version of OneNote will handle ink. This is a must read for all OneNote fans. Highlights of the new features:

Ink can now be copied and pasted from the clipboard and will remain ink!

You will be able to lasso ink and work with it a la Windows Journal (woot!).

Widgets will not show up while you write on the page- just like on paper.

As you write near the bottom of the page it will automatically extend to give you more “paper”.

Adding space between ink/ text on a page will move everything down by default, as it should.

There is now a totally new ink parser that can even recognize slanted text (one of my biggest problems).

  1. JK, it is so good to hear that the new One Note will enable you to lassoo ink the way you can in Journal. I don’t know why they didn’t have this from the start – it’s the reason I don’t use One Note (I prefer EverNote Plus instead). Keep up the good work… Jon Dee
