I am not very sure of the implications of this, but significant nonetheless: Japanese gaming pioneer Konami has tied up with local ISP and tech company Internet Initiative Japan to launch a join venture called “Internet Revolution” (i-revo) for developing portals sites, whatever that means.

The tie-up merges “Konami’s expertise in developing digital entertainment content and IIJ’s cultivated highly reliable technologies for developing system and network operations”…also this: “i-revo will offer content and sites that will be cherished by a wide range of users from children to the elderly, through services focusing on ‘relationships, sense of security, user-friendly and impression’”.

Konami will put up 70 percent of the proposed $22 million while IIJ will put up the rest.
