i finally got an invitation to analytics. but it is very slow and for the past two days i have not managed to view the reports on dariro.co.zw. I also use ritecounter.com, which is quite fast and suffice for my purposes rite now. i want analytics coz ritecounter is still beta and u never know what will happen when they are out of beta

check my analytics out after almost 3 weeks. I had signed up as soon as google released it. But then i forgot. Now, I am in india and I suddenly thought will check it up after reading your post. And voila, am I not impressed. this is the first time I am using such a service and my first reaction is ‘wow’ someone is reading me … :-)

Having used Webtrends, Urchin, Google Analytics, and Mint, I’d much prefer Mint anyday for blog and non-enterprise web tracking. Mint was probably one of the easiest web apps I’ve ever installed. Far easier than WordPress or MT.

I’m interested in trying Mint, but can someone tell me how it compares with Nettracker Lite (which I currently use and is free) or Webtrends? The demo on Mint’s website appears to be currently disabled, so I cannot see what features it has.

One feature I’m particularly interested in is being able to dig deeper into my site and see the refferers to a page one click down.

I was disapointed with Google Analytics. I signed up in the first hour, and it took 72 hours to start showing some data. After that AdWords and AdSense started the account unification, so I though, oh well, might as well use the same account on Analytics. Installed the code in the same place in my header pages, and it’s been 5 days without data.

Very very disapointing…

Wow, the first post that throw sh*t on Mint! I rarely saw that in blogosphere :). I actually wanted to go with it but then decided to go with delineate and google analytic (yeah, I’m the lucky few who got there in time :P)

Shaun, we tried everything. perhaps i can get you the exact emails of what was going on. it was not installation that was an issue, instead it was the whole issue of not being able to simply log-in. to say that i was disappointed doesn’t sum up my feelings, especially after the product was so highly recommended by people who i respect a lot.

Om, “piece of shit” is pretty strong for something that, by your own admission, you haven’t really been able to try. I’m sorry if you had installation problems and we weren’t able to work them out satisfactorily. I’m at Cre824 at the moment but when I get home and have access to my full inbox I’ll take another look.

Did you post on or search the Mint Forum for a solution? I find it very hard to believe that a “genius” sys admin couldn’t get to the root of the issue when more than 2,000 users–including complete novices–can get it up and running without incident.

So far I’m liking Measure Map, though I haven’t quite got the post and comment stats to work with Textpattern yet. Other than that it is pretty good and I think it’s just what I need.

Haven’t tried Mint yet but from what I have heard it’s pretty good.

Google Analytics, looks nice but I found it to be a bit more tailored to businesses and at first glance it was a little confusing.

But each has their strengths and weaknesses and it all boils down to what you need.

Well, MeasureMap provides real URLs where users came from.

Google Analytics defaults to the server name, which is completely unusable.
