TiVoted not fawning anymore, according to this study which finds that the iconic company is losing ground among DVR users

  • Right now it’s a classic case of “what have you done for me lately”

    The latest update is Overlap Protection that records both shows where the ending of one and the beginning of the other overlap in time by trimming and giving priority based on Season Pass priority.

    There are many features related to information gathering and management, the online center integration, and so on that would be nice. These are things “within the system”.

    Then the multituner, HD, cablecard and such stuff on top of that.

    The dissing the Mac users has been stupid, too. Did they even try to get an acceptable DRM solution from Apple for this content?

    Look – TiVo is still a great value and the best system for dealing with *most* TV viewing, but they’ve got to move the little box forward.
