The Pioneer AVIC-Z1 navigation system looks like a great solution for providing an in-dash nav system that gets out of your way when you don’t need it. The mulit-purpose unit provides DVD playback, CD/MP3 disk capability and also has enhanced iPod functionality, in addition to the advanced nav system that will remember often used routes and tell you which lane you need to be in. There’s also the voice recognition, Bluetooth for using with a cell phone, and XM NavTraffic for instant traffic info. I want one.

  1. I’d rather dock my regular small Tablet PC in a holder in the car rather than have a second, dedicated device. It would also solve the problem of where to put the Tablet while driving.
