Given that Gizmo Project has recording capability, they could allow one to record a message offline and send it to a buddy. Stuart Henshall has been suggesting this to Skype forever.

i agree.. aswath. stuart had been talking about this when i met with him. i am pretty hopeful that gizmo project gets more traction with the developers who don’t wait around for the company to do stuff.

It is one thing to build up an open source product, but I am cynical about independent developers building on a company’s product. As in the most recent example, some are bestowed with billions and others are left to dream “what could have been”.
