The Flybook ultra-portable PC is on display in Japan this week and this new version 3 looks pretty nice. The Flybook is a convertible notebook that is touch-screen based and operates like a small convertible Tablet PC. The Flybook people state that the version 3 device will be available with the Tablet Edition OS as soon as it’s released. The 8.9 inch screen on the Flybook supports a resolution of 1024 x 600 and is a wireless workhorse. All Flybooks ship with both WiFi and Bluetooth and some form of integrated 3G connectivity. Units sold in Europe and the Middle East ship with GSM (EDGE) and units sold in the US ship with CDMA. The hardware options on the Flybook offer a 1.1 GHz Pentium M, 512 MB of memory and hard disk capacities from 20 GB to 100 GB. Pricing is unknown at this time.

  1. Looks like I’ll be picking up the Middle East version instead of the US version (GSM > CDMA for me for cost reasons)..wonder how much it’ll cost.

  2. Version 3? I think I missed a version here since I was only aware of one previous version (TM Crusoe 1 GHz). In any case, do you have any info on how to buy one of these?
