It is only boring because so many people complicated the topic. Its all about applications talking to applications and the oppertunities that presents to businesses and developers:

I fully agree. Forget about 1.9, 2.0, 2.5 etc who cares its just one of these buzz words again. Let’s just do it – and let others call it what they want :)
